VERB TO BE (Simple Past)

Past forms of the verb (to) be – “was” and “were” ( "foi" e "foram")

Afirmativa:

  • was good student.
  • You were good student.
  • He/ She/It was good student.
  • We were good students.
  • You were good students.
  • They were good students.
Negativa: wasn't (was + not) / weren't ( were + not)
                    I wasn't talkative.
                    You weren't quite

Interrogativa: Was she a good student?
                              Were you good students?
I was to the show. Errado
I was a nice child. Correto

stop - stopped
permit - permitted

5. Todos os outros verbos acrescentamos ed:

work - worked
kiss - kissed

Negative Form

Para dizer não, devemos usar o auxiliary verb  DIDN'T (did + not) e o verbo principal volta para o normal (infinitivo sem o to). Usamos a forma para todas as pessoas (I, YOU, HE, SHE, IT, WE, YOU, THEY).

I didn't a teacher.

Interrogative Form

Para que a pergunta fique no passado, devemos usar DID antes de todas as pessoas(I, YOU, HE, SHE, IT, WE, YOU, THEY).
Did + sujeito + verbo no infinitivo sem o to + ....?

Did you study last friday?
Yes, I did.
No, I didn't.
